North Coast pear growers are invited to a College of California Cooperative Extension assembly to debate the flathead borer, a beforehand unknown pest that causes injury to pears in Lake County. Researchers aren’t certain if this is identical pest because the Pacific flathead borer recognized in Washington.
The assembly, led by Clebson G. Gonçalves, diversified agriculture advisor, and Cindy Kron, built-in pest administration advisor, shall be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Oct. 17 on the Scotts Valley Ladies’s Membership in Lakeport.
